Selecting your first office space can be a thrilling and challenging venture for you and your business. Though the experience may be overwhelming for you, it is very important that you focus on making the best decisions for you, your company, your employees and your clients or customers. “Location, location, location.” We’ve all heard that famous phrase, which drives home just how important location is when choosing a space for your office.

If you find an office that ticks these two boxes, then you’re well on your way to finding a good location. Think about the security of the neighbourhood as well and what’s close to the office. Is there a gym nearby? Coffee shop? After work bar? All of these things are important for keeping your clients and staff happy!

Cost and Expenses

The amount of money you must spend is a major deciding factor when it comes to renting office spaces. It is best to have a budget prepared, and you must be willing to stick to it. Renting comes with plenty of expenses and you may be overwhelmed by bills if you are not prepared for them.

This one factor changes every equation of the things that you need to consider. From co-working space, executive or an office suite to a virtual office, there are a number of options available for modern entrepreneurs. It is imperative for you to decide on the arrangement that you wish to enter in, even before worrying about cost, locality and space.

For example, in the case of a virtual office, the need for space and locality becomes secondary while a space that is technologically independent takes the driver’s seat. Likewise, in case of an executive office suite, space and locality become more important factors when compared to the amenities’ considerations.

Infrastructure

This is a more important feature for some businesses than others. Nowadays, however, there aren’t many businesses that can function efficiently without a reliable internet connection. Some offices particularly managed or serviced offices, generally, include internet access as part of their rent. If you’re leasing somewhere privately though, you’ll need to factor in the cost of getting a line connected and the monthly payments for access.

The quality and reliability of the service matter too. There’s no point paying for a service that is being interrupted constantly or cracks under the strain of a, particularly busy day.

Ample Amenities

Employees prefer to work in offices which offer them access to various amenities within their own premises or somewhere close by. These amenities include restaurants, cafes, and other meeting places and service providers. This could also work for you and your clients/visitors when you want to conduct meetings outside the office.

Renting an office in an area that offers easy access to places of importance tends to be a more attractive option as employees as well as clients/visitors will surely find these to be useful.
