How to Keep Your Apartments Clean?

Living in an apartment — especially one that’s limited in space — can be challenging for all sorts of reasons, particularly when you’re hoping to achieve that cleanliness appeal many of us strive for. If you want to master the art of keeping tidy, there are tips to keep your apartment organized that you might want to consider. The tips can be helpful in not only getting your apartment organized but keeping it that way moving forward as well.

Do a little cleaning every day

Make it a point to do one chore per day, whether it’s taking out the garbage and recycling, deep cleaning the bathroom or kitchen, or vacuuming or mopping your floors. This eliminates those marathons cleaning sessions that we all want to avoid. Set up reminders on your Smartphone or keep a list on the fridge of what chore needs to be accomplished on any given day.

Make your bed daily

Most beds take up the majority of space in your room, so visually it can make a huge difference. While it may seem like a small task, making your bed sets the tone for your whole day (and your whole bedroom). It’s one of the first things you do every morning, so by starting your day right, you’re more likely to keep up the good work.

Don’t Leave Dirty Dishes In The Sink

It’s a difficult habit to form, but once it’s ingrained in you you’ll never look at your kitchen the same way again. This is not to say that the dishes will just sit there, though. Someone else who participated in eating the meal will take responsibility for washing them. This method doesn’t work for everyone, as discussed by TheKitchn.com, but it is at least some alternative to the dreaded cooking and then dishwashing process. Either way, in hopes of giving your kitchen that clean feeling, try to avoid leaving a mess in the sink.

Focus on Your Surfaces

These typically are the areas that pick up a lot of messiness and clutter. When you are cleaning, focus on places like desks, kitchen and bathroom counters, coffee tables, dining room tables, and bedroom side tables. When these spots are organized, your entire apartment will look organized.

Use a Laundry Hamper With a Lid

It is better to have a laundry hamper to put your dirty clothes for washing. Dirty clothes spilling onto a floor has the power to quickly change a room’s cleanliness factor from very good to very bad. To avoid this keep a laundry hamper with a lid.

Create a schedule

Having a cleaning schedule will help avoid a situation where a surprise visitor comes over and your apartment is a complete mess (trust us, it happens). By getting into a weekly routine, your apartment will never get too dirty, so last-minute tidying becomes quick and easy.
